A total of 16 coaches attended a six-day Level 3 Coaching Course in conjunction with the 12th Sultan of Johor Cup in Johor Bahru.
Organised by the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) in collaboration with Johor Hockey Association (JHA), the course commenced on Oct 19-24 at the Pine Tree Marina Resort.
It was conducted by Mr Paul Lissek. The German, who is a former coach of the Malaysian senior team, is arguably one of the best coaches in international hockey today.
The coaching course instructors were Mr. V. Sasidharan, and Mr. V.Muraleedharan.
Johor HA President Dato’ Majid Manjit Abdullah, who is also the MHC Coaching Committee Chairman, Mr. Parm Jat Singh (JHA Deputy President (II) and Chairman of JHA Coaching Committee), En. Faqarudin Abdul Kadir, Honorary Secretary of JHA, graced the event.
The topics discussed were on high level game structure, rules interpretation, practical session – Small game for advance skills, and theory on criteria on team selection.
